Municipalities need urgent, but different, attention - Mokgoro

Putting municipalities under the same type of administration even if it does not yield the desired results is counterproductive. This is the view of North West Premier, Prof Job Mokgoro, who said invoking Section 139 of the Constitution and 137 of the Municipal Finance Management Act need to be revisited because municipalities concerned, continue to yield poor results every year. 

The Premier believes government needs to do proper consultation and come up with working interventions in poorly performing municipalities.
