Sponsors First National Bank (FNB) had this to say: “As FNB Business,
these events offer us an opportunity to connect with our clients outside
the professional environment and through this we continue to build on
our solid relationship. We are looking forward to yet another exciting
edition of the FNB Magalies Monster MTB Classic and FNB Platinum
Trail Run,” said Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of FNB Business, Mike
Vacy-Lyle.
On its website Stillwater Sports describes the FNB Magalies Monster
MTB Classic as an experience that provides “all the hallmarks of a truly
South African mountain bike race, namely: stunning scenery, technical
riding, a challenge tough enough to make you sweat, but not cry and
the sense of accomplishing something unique – you are, after all, riding
through an area that was formed 2 billion years ago when vast
quantities of molten magma welled up from the earth’s inner core

depressing the centre of an ancient seabed and thrusting the rock
edges upwards”.
This is a six-kilometre climb up the northern slope of the Magaliesberg,
which riders of the 70km route encounter, according to Stillwater
Sports.
Participants can choose between the following distances in the the
FNB Magalies Monster MTB Classic:
Distance 1: +/- 65km
Distance 2: +/- 33km
Distance 3: +/- 16km

The prize money is allocated to the first five men and first five
women in the 65km MTB and then to the first three men and three
women in the 33km distance. Pre-entries for the MTB Classic
close on 30 May.
