Bokone Bophirima Provincial Government has officially bid farewell to outgoing Premier, Supra Mahumapelo, following his resignation announcement on Wednesday at ANC Luthuli House in Johannesburg.
Speaking on Thursday morning during a short farewell meeting with Mahumapelo, Finance Economy and Enterprise Development MEC, Wendy Nelson - who is also Acting Premier - thanked him for his role and contribution in government.
“We really would like to thank you for the massive contribution you have made in government and will also like to wish you and your family well. Your contribution of five concretes which took the direction of prioritizing villages, township and small dorpies has changed the lives of many people in our communities and we really thank you for that among other critical things,” she said.
The former Premier met his support staff and the entire management to say his final goodbye.
Director General of the Provincial Government, Dr Lydia Sebego, said she learnt a lot from Mahumapelo’s character and his good leadership style.
“Working under you was a wonderful experience and I have personally learnt a lot, which I will even use after my life here in government. I have no doubt in my mind that you have a lot of wisdom which our country can still use to better the lives of our people,” she said.
Mahumapelo used the opportunity to thank Dr Sebego, Members of the Executive and staff for their support and wished them well in their work and lives.
