Golf at Sun City will now have dedicated games to raise fund for the needy. Sun City has announced the second annual Sun City Cares Charity Golf Day scheduled for next month, which will raiuse funds for South African Golf Development Board and the PwC Charity Golf Day in aid of orphaned and vulnerable children at the Touch Community Network. It will be the first time Sun City holds the PwC Charity Golf Day.

The two charity golf days will take place at the Lost City Golf Course as a prelude to the 2016 Nedbank Golf Challenge, which plays out on the Gary Player Golf Course at Sun City from 10 to 13 November.

Golfers who participate in the Sun City Cares Charity Golf Day will enjoy dinner in the Superbowl at the newly refurbished Sun Central (Entertainment Centre) during the Nedbank Golf Challenge welcome event, where they will rub shoulders with international golf players.

"Buoyed by the success of our first charity golf day in 2015, we are delighted to announce the second Sun City Cares Charity Golf Day as part of the 2016 Nedbank Golf Challenge week. We are also pleased to confirm that the PwC Charity Golf Day will take place the following day for the benefit of a cause that is close to our hearts," said Nedbank Golf Challenge Tournament Director, Alastair Roper.

Meanwhile, the Gary Player Golf Course is closed in preparation for the Nedbank Challenge.

Speaking during the 'Final Round', a day in which the media was exposed to changes made to the golf course, Roper announced the participation of former winner, South African Retief Goosen.

"Double US Open champion, Retief Goosen, will also return to the tournament he won in 2004, having been granted a special invitation to play this year. An invitation was also extended to Ernie Els but two-time British Open Champion will not be able to join the field due to other commitments," he said.

The Nedbank Golf Challenge tournament will be hosted by another great name, retired golfer Gary Player.
